Keira Knightly DOmestic Violence PSA

Keira Knightley just filmed this PSA on domestic violence to be aired in the UK. It's disturbing, but I commend Ms. Knightley for trying to spread awareness about this problem. Her character in the PSA is an actor who gets beaten by her partner, and keeps insisting, "That Wasn't in the script! I didn't agree to that." It's true. you might commit to a person, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't leave them if they start hitting you. That's not part of your "for better or for worse" vows. That's not something you should try to work through.

Especially after Rihanna went back to Chris Brown, it's important for a glamourous and young celebrity like Knightley to address domestic violence and show that it's not the glamourous and inevitable bi-product of a truly passionate relationship where your partner just loves you "so much." This PSA is hard to watch, but it really illustrates how horrible domestic violence is. It's not something that just happens "in the heat of the moment." Watch it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt7JZSrDJA8. It's a bit graphic but it makes an important point effectively.
